Manga Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Takes a Short Break as the Story Builds Momentum

Manga Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Takes a Short Break as the Story Builds Momentum

--

RAVE OTONITY – Fans of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will have to wait a little longer for the next installment of the manga. The series is skipping one issue of Shueisha’s V Jump, creating a brief publication gap before returning with its next chapter. According to the announcement, the manga will be absent from the October issue, which ships on August 21, 2026, and is scheduled to return with the November issue on September 18.

For readers following the series on a monthly basis, the delay amounts to roughly four additional weeks. However, this should not be confused with a lengthy hiatus. Two Blue Vortex has maintained a monthly schedule since its launch, and the decision to skip a single issue represents only a temporary adjustment to that rhythm.

The franchise has experienced longer interruptions before. In 2023, the original Boruto manga concluded its first part before entering a hiatus. The story eventually returned in August of the same year under the Two Blue Vortex title, introducing a significant time skip and a new stage in Boruto Uzumaki’s journey.

The current manga has also undergone a major publishing transformation over the years. It originally began in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2016 before moving to the monthly V Jump magazine in 2019. Ukyō Kodachi initially handled the writing, while Masashi Kishimoto later took over those duties beginning with chapter 52.

The monthly format has become an important part of the series’ production. Artist Mikio Ikemoto has previously explained that creating the chapters requires a substantial amount of time, particularly because the installments are considerably longer than typical weekly chapters. A short scheduling pause can therefore provide additional breathing room for the creative process.

No specific reason has been publicly provided for this particular break. Monthly manga can occasionally miss an issue for a variety of production-related reasons, including workload or the need to give the creative team additional time. In this case, there is currently no indication that the pause represents a major problem for the series.

The latest compiled volume of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex was released by Shueisha in June 2026, while individual chapters continue to be distributed digitally through platforms such as MANGA Plus and Viz Media. This ensures that international readers can continue following the story as new installments become available.

The break also comes while the broader Boruto franchise remains active. The first part of the anime adaptation ended in March 2023 after 293 episodes, while a second anime part has been confirmed but has yet to begin broadcasting. Meanwhile, the manga continues to push the story of the next generation into increasingly serious territory.

For now, readers simply need to wait until the scheduled September 18 return. Since the pause involves only one V Jump issue, the overall publication pattern should remain largely intact once the manga resumes. The short gap may ultimately give fans an opportunity to revisit the latest developments before the next chapter arrives.

What Is a Manga?

Manga is the Japanese term commonly used for comics and graphic storytelling originating from Japan. Manga covers a wide range of genres, including action, adventure, romance, fantasy, comedy, science fiction and horror, with works created for audiences of different ages.

Japanese manga are commonly serialized chapter by chapter in magazines before being collected into individual volumes. Successful manga can also receive adaptations in the form of anime series, movies, video games and other media.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is part of the Naruto franchise and continues the story surrounding Boruto Uzumaki and the next generation of shinobi. The manga combines ninja action with supernatural abilities, technological elements and a continuing struggle involving characters from both the previous and current generations. Its latest one-month pause is therefore only a temporary interruption to an ongoing story rather than the end of its publication.
