Dragon Ball is a Japanese anime and manga series created by Akira Toriyama that follows the adventures of Son Goku as he searches for the Dragon Balls and fights to protect Earth. The main series includes Dragon Ball (Goku’s childhood), Dragon Ball Z (his adult years), and Dragon Ball Super.

Illustration of Vegeta's Mother
The illustration in question is a redesign of the cover for Volume 19 of the manga, which features Goku with his family; in the puddle at his feet, the shadows of Bardock, Gine, and Raditz can be seen. Since this image won a fan poll to choose their favorite “Dragon Ball Super” cover, Toyotaro decided to create an alternate version, and just as he did with Gohan, this time he dedicated it to Vegeta’s family.

In this new image, we see the Saiyan prince smiling alongside Bulma, Trunks, and Bra, while King Vegeta, Tarble, and a woman—who is none other than Vegeta’s mother—are reflected in a puddle.
This is the first time in the entire history of "Dragon Ball" that we’ve seen this character appear, and although Toyotaro chose to cover her face and most of her body, the details of her clothing and hairstyle are still visible. Will the time come when the mangaka shares an official image of the Queen of Planet Vegeta? Only time will tell, and we shouldn’t rule out the possibility that Akira Toriyama left behind some sketches or clues about her.
Will There Be a Vegeta-Centric Movie?
After this illustration was released, many people theorized that Toyotaro was subtly hinting that we might soon get a story about Vegeta’s origins. Given that in Dragon Ball Super: Broly we learned about Goku’s true past, and that Dragon Ball Super: Superhero focused on Gohan and Piccolo, could the next movie in the franchise feature Vegeta as the main character?
