Dragon Ball Launches a New Series, Featuring 4 Different Forms of Goku!
--
RAVE OTN - The latest Dragon Ball release spotlights Goku, showcasing four distinct forms of the protagonist who has defined the franchise for four decades.
According to Toy People, Bandai’s HG (High Grade) Gashapon figure series has launched a new Goku-themed collection. Titled "HG Dragon Ball 06 GOKU EDITION 2," this line features four versions of Goku: his childhood appearance, his adult form, Super Saiyan, and Super Saiyan Blue.
These Goku figures will be available in Gashapon machines across Japan starting this month. These popular Japanese vending machines dispense random capsule toys, giving fans a chance to receive one of the four Saiyan versions with each purchase.

Such merchandise is increasingly being released internationally as well, for instance, through Bandai's official Gashapon distribution in the US.
Each figure stands approximately 10 centimeters tall and is priced at 500 yen (about US$3.40). Although currently exclusive to Japan, the product may soon reach international markets, following the pattern of previous Dragon Ball merchandise.
This latest Dragon Ball release showcases various forms of Goku from the series.
The new Goku series draws inspiration from iconic moments in the long history of the Dragon Ball franchise. The young Goku figure is modeled after his appearance during the King Piccolo Saga, recreating the moment he confronted King Piccolo and his henchman, Drum, to save Tien from their attack.
Meanwhile, the base-form Goku figure is based on a famous cover illustration by Akira Toriyama for Weekly Shonen Jump (1990, Issue 37), created to commemorate the manga surpassing five million copies sold. The illustration depicts Goku firing a Kamehameha—a pose perfectly captured by the Gashapon figure.
The Super Saiyan figure is inspired by the Frieza Saga, capturing the moment he unleashed his power in a fit of rage during the final stages of his battle against Frieza on Namek. Every detail—including Goku's facial expression, his torn gi, and his muscular contours—is perfectly sculpted on this figure.
The final figure in the HG Gashapon HG Dragon Ball 06 GOKU EDITION 2 lineup is Goku in his Super Saiyan Blue form. As fans may recognize, this form originated in the film Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F', where the character used it in battle against Golden Frieza.
Audiences can also revisit this moment in the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Beerus—a remastered version of that arc—which is expected to be released in the fall of 2026.
The HG Gashapon series is considered a budget-friendly figure line by fans, yet it boasts high-quality sculpting and paintwork that give it a near-premium feel. Originally launched in 2003, the line was popular among collectors before experiencing a period of declining popularity.
The series was officially relaunched in 2024 featuring figures updated with cutting-edge technology, including transparent and metallic pearlescent paint finishes for the hair and aura effects. The 2024 relaunch kicked off with a special Goku-focused line showcasing the Saiyan in his most powerful forms, including Ultra Instinct.
