Haikyuu!! Releases Another Teaser for Its New Anime—Karasuno’s Comeback Is Highly Anticipated!

RAVE COMIC - 'Haikyuu!!' is back with news regarding its upcoming anime projects. The volume of content might not be quite as high as we had hoped, but it is certainly not bad.

I am referring to the new movie, 'Haikyuu!!: VS The Little Giant,' and the mini-anime 'Haikyuu!!: Where Monsters Go'—both scheduled for release in 2027. Today, the big news is the reveal of what we can call "new visuals" for both productions. Let me break it all down for you step by step.

New Trailer for Haikyuu!!

Perhaps the most significant news is the release of the first trailer for the franchise's new mini-anime, shared by @d0nut2x.

The video in question is the one I have just attached here. Titled 'Haikyuu!!: Where Monsters Go,' the series is notable for deviating from the Karasuno storyline and not featuring Hinata and his teammates as the protagonists.

More specifically, the anime chronicles the Spring Tournament quarterfinal match between Bokuto’s Fukurodani and Kiryu’s Mujinazaka. It thus focuses on one of the other compelling matches that took place during the same competition in which Karasuno participated.

While it may not be as major a release as the movie, it is still great to see this content being offered. I refer to this project as a mini-anime because it was originally planned as a short series—likely consisting of two or three episodes.

However, since specific details have not yet been revealed, we cannot rule out the possibility that it might be condensed into a single, longer episode. For now, the only certainty is that the series will premiere in 2027.

The Latest Haikyuu!! Movie

The other—and most significant—project from the franchise is the new movie, 'Haikyuu!!: VS The Little Giant.' As with previous projects, we already know this film is set to premiere in Japan sometime in 2027.

We have to wait and see exactly which month it hits Japanese theaters; once we have that information, we can try to guess whether we’ll get it in 2027 as well—or if we’ll have to wait until early 2028 due to a delay in the Western release. Hopefully, we won't have to wait that long.

Unfortunately, there hasn't been much news about the film yet. No trailer has been shown—only the promotional image I’ve included below.

The fact that we haven't seen anything from the film suggests it likely won't premiere in Japan during the first few months of 2027, though this is just my theory, and it's best to wait for official information to be certain.

And that covers the latest news on the two 'Haikyuu!!' anime projects. The trailer for the mini-anime is certainly interesting, though it’s a shame we didn't get a trailer for the new movie as well.
